Filled Pie

A pie is a baked pastry of pastry casing filled with sweet or savoury ingredients. Sweet pies contain fruits, nuts, brown sugar or sweetened vegetables. Savoury pies conatin meat, eggs and cheese or vegetables like pizzas. Aside from flavors, the forms of pie also differ. There are three kinds of pie. One is the filled pie, another is the top-crust pie, and the other is the two-crust pie. A filled pie, also known as single-crust or bottom-crust pie, is an open face pie without the top crust. The filling of filled pie will be filled on top of the bottom crust and left open. A top-crust pie, as its name referred, has the filling covered with a pastry without a bottom crust. As for a two-crust pie, the filling will be enclosed in the pastry shell. Shortcrust pastry is a typical pie crust while biscuits, mashed potatoes, and crumbs can also serve as pie crusts.
